In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build confidence using a range of common household tools while learning safe, practical techniques under the guidance of Rob. Across the session, you’ll get comfortable with the basics—how tools work, when to use them, and how to handle them safely—so you can tackle everyday home tasks with ease.
You won’t just walk away with new skills. You’ll also take home your very own carry‑all (toolbox), to stock with the essential tools you’ve learned to use, so you can keep practising and putting your new abilities to work straight away.
This workshop is designed especially for beginners who want to feel more capable, independent, and handy around the home. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to give things a go.

This is a very special event with Rob and Glyph Gallery & Creative Space in Port Fairy. A weekend exploring blacksmithing; including hammer and tong use, heating, shaping, bending, twisting, and sharpening of steel, and beeswax/coconut oil finishes. You will have the opportunity to work on a suite of forged items from S-hook, cheese knife, fire poker and hardwood coat rack with hooks.

Winter Warming Workshops in our Home Forge are a course intended for woodwork projects that require a few sessions to complete. Each course is a set of three friday evening classes of 2 hours each, for participants 18 years and over. A forge is lit for warmth and hot mulled wine served.
